Are Longer Wheel Studs Needed When Installing DeeMaxx Slip On Disc Kit
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/14/2025 >
Question:
I am looking at purchasing a complete Deemax system for my tandem axle boat trailer and it seems I would need to replace the wheel studs to account for for the thickness of the DE72FR slip on disc. Can you tell me how much longer they need to be?

Hey Steven, you generally do not need to replace the wheel studs of your hubs when installing slip on disc kits like the DeeMax part # DE72FR. The rotors are not overly thick and normally trailer hub wheel studs are longer than needed so it's not an issue.

Hey Steven, how did things go with the DeeMaxx disc brake kit on your boat trailer? Did the existing wheel studs give you enough length after adding the slip-on rotors? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.
