Question:

I have a 2018 Jeep grand Cherokee. I’m looking to pull a small trailer with it. I found the towing kit I need and everything but I don’t know what to buy to hook up the electric so it’s legal. Can you tell me what kit I need to buy for that?

It sounds like your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not have the towing package. To add a wiring harness to it you will want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C62VR. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Jeep's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights. It will provide you with a 4-flat connector that allows you to control your small trailer's lighting functions.

I recommend using the No-Drill Mount Bracket item # 18136 and the item # C42CR to secure the 4-way connector to your hitch. This will put it in an easy to reach spot and prevent the risk of it falling onto the road.
