It sounds like you're looking for a hitch ball to tow a trailer with, and which ball you need depends on the coupler size and the weight of the trailer. Without knowing the size of the coupler and the trailer, the etrailer Ball Mount kit # 989900 comes with 2 different sized ball mounts and 2 different sized hitch balls- 1-7/8" and 2"-all of the components in this kit are rated for up to 7500-lbs. This kit will allow you to cover different rises and drops to insure that you're towing your trailer level, and comes with hitch pins and clips to give you everything you need except the wiring harness to power the trailer lights.
If you need something with a higher capacity, the # C40030 is a 2-5/16" hitch ball with a 15000-lbs capacity. For a ball mount I recommend using the B&W # BWBMHD30010 because of the high quality of B&W products, plus this ball mount is made in the U.S.A..
If you need a wiring harness for your truck, please let me know what your tow vehicle is and I can help point you in the right direction as to what will work best for your situation.
