How Much Bed Space Does Pace Edwards JackRabbit Lose due to Cannister

Question:

Looking to see how much bed space this actually takes up in the front. I know it says the box is 10” tall but does that stick all down in the bed. Trying to figure out how much bed space I’ll be losing. Or should say how much full bed length will be left.

The cannister of the Pace Edwards JackRabbit tonneau covers like the part # 311-JED7936 are 9-3/4 inches wide so that is how much bed space you would lose.

You say the cannister is 9-3/4" wide but that is probably a 6ft bed... how large is the cannister for one with an 8ft bed also include how much room the cover takes up because it does not go all the way into the cannister. Would it be a foot or more? I need this info to make a choice between this and the RetraxPro XR - so if possible I would need these dimensions as well for comparison. Thanks!

@Wardb Actually the size of the cannister is the same between the long and short bed trucks. The Retrax cannister is a lot bigger.

@JamesonC Actually the one I was most interested in is the Retrax because it can be key locked in position and does not have a pull lanyard to close. If you have those dimensions I would be interested in knowing. The Pace Edwards do not have a position lock just a position catch.
