Can Furrion Chill Cube Be Added To Camper As 3rd AC Unit?

Question:

Looking at getting this unit to be used for a 3rd ac. My camper is prepped for a 3rd. I see it comes with a remote to control the settings so I’m not worried about connecting to thermostat. Would the unit function properly with it just being hooked up to power or do all other connections need to be hooked up?

Hello Sheldon, thanks for reaching out. The Furrion Chill Cube AC Unit can indeed be added to your camper, and long as your camper has a ducted AC system. If so, you can use the Furrion # FR69TD which comes with the AC unit, distribution box and thermostat.

The unit will need to be installed per the instructions in order for it to function properly. Hooking up just one wire would not work. The video I linked below will show you an example of installation. Feel free to reply below with any other questions.

Thank you. Following up, I have a 2023 Columbus 382fb with the two units already. As I stated before it’s prepped for a 3rd unit. I have the Coleman Mach airs and I replaced my thermostat with the micro air easy touch. Is there a specific model of futon chill cube I would need to be 100% compatible or an install kit it would need. I’m not worried about being tied into the existing duct system so either a ducted/ductless model works for me. Thank you

@SheldonF If you add a chill cube unit it would have its own dedicated thermostat. It is a single zone controller so it would not be able to be controlled by your micro air easy touch thermostat.
