Hey Les, thanks for reaching out. So, the 18,000 BTU Furrion Chill Cube AC Unit # LC94DX can replace your Coleman Mach AC unit, but you will need to replace your controller, distribution box and thermostat as well. According to Furrion, the Chill Cube units are not compatible to be used with any other brands equipment. It can only be used with a Chill Cube ADB and remote. We offer this AC unit as a kit that comes with everything needed, and for that you can use the following:

- Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR69TD

Hey Jesse, Seeing as they are only compatible with their own adb and controller, will their controller work with a Suburban 30K furnace ?

@Chuck That will be a nice upgrade for you then. As of right now we are hoping to have the Chill Cube units available to ship by the end of January, so getting it done by this spring should be no problem

I can't really afford that much of an upgrade, what do you have I could replace my Coleman unit with ? Or if you have any ideas what might be wrong with mine. It comes on just fine, starts cooking for maybe 20 seconds then trips the breaker.

@Lesd If you want to replace the rooftop portion only, for replacing a Coleman the only option is the Furrion Chill HE # FR42PV which comes with a conversion kit for a Coleman AC system. This unit uses the older style of refrigerant which is being phased out. The Chill Cube units use the new R32 refrigerant which is the new standard. But again this would require changing out your whole AC system.

I was also reading that the furrion chill cube only works with their own stuff. I have a Jacyo pinnacle with the BM pro. Tablet. I was wondering if it will be able to work with that. I will be replacing a coleman mach

@Markt I just checked with my contact at Furrion and sadly the Chill Cube cannot intercommunicate with the Jaycommand BMPRO system at this time.

@JesseM is there a way to find out which ones are compatible?Or should I just stick to the original one.

@Markt Right now the only way to control The Furrion Chill Cube AC would be with a Furrion Chill Cube thermostat/controller. It is not compatible with any other brand of thermostat. It has to be all Chill Cube parts.

I have a Coleman Mach 3 with a MicroAir Thermostat and a separate gas heater. If I bought the Furrion #FR69TD does that thermostat install directly where my stock one did and will it control the heat function in my RV? You mention the controller needs to be replaced too, where does the controller reside? Does Furrion have a link to instructions for this scenario?

@Chris Hello Chris. Yes, the Chill Cube thermostat can install directly where the stock one did, and it is capable of controlling the AC as well as the heat. We sell this as a complete kit that comes with everything you need, part # FR69TD. This includes the rooftop AC, distribution box and wall thermostat. With the Chill Cube units, the controller or "brain" is actually built into the AC unit itself. If you were to remove the shroud, it is the silver box on the right side of the unit. Most other RV ACs have the controller in the distribution box.

I currently have a 15k ducted furrion and would like to switch to the 18k ducted chill cube. Would i need to change anything else or will the new unit work with existing distribution box?

@Dianna no the 18K Chill cube unit will not work with your existing distribution box. You will need to change out your whole AC system so a new rooftop unit, controller and thermostat. For that, I recommend the following: - Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w Air Distribution Box, Thermostat - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR69TD

@JesseM I purchased your non-ducted 18K Furrion Chill last April, to replace my 13.5K Coleman Mach. it installed easily, but now I have no thermostat or furnace. Do you have a controller kit I can purchase that will give me a new thermostat that will control my furnace?

@BillJ Hey Bill, we do have the thermostat/controller kit for the 18K Furrion Chill Cube. Here is what you will need: - Ductless Air Distribution Box for Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioners - White # LC44DX This comes with the distribution box and thermostat for the Chill Cube. This thermostat is for AC only so you would need a separate thermostat for your furnace.
