Recommended 2 Inch Hitch for a 2022 Nissan Rogue

Hi guys. I am looking for a good hitch that allow my Nissan Rogue 2022 to be more versatile when it comes to carry bikes or small trailers. With this being said Im not sure on what decision to make. As per my manual the vehicle towing Max capacity is 1350 pounds which means the class I would be the best option. However, I saw a Class II of 2 x 2 being installed in a Rogue 2023. My question is. What if I get a Class II installed to make the vehicle more versatile? How can this affect it or make unsafe the driving experience?

For maximum versatility you're going to want to go with a class III hitch that has a 2" receiver. I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e93ZR. This hitch is custom fit for your 2022 Nissan Rogue and installs with included hardware. There are so many more options if you have a 2" receiver over a 1-1/4" one.
All of the hitches for the 2022 Rogue are practically identical visually and size wise. You would be paying more for a class II 1-1/4" hitch item # C57HR and have to deal with compatibility issues and less options.
The etrailer Hitch item # e93ZR is rated for 3,500 lbs but the limiting factor will always be your Nissan's capabilities. Just because the hitch has a higher capacity doesn't mean your SUV suddenly will when you install it. If you stay within your Rogue's abilities then you will not have any safety concerns. The hitch won't change how your vehicle drives, it only weighs 31 lbs.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C44ER and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
