The width of the groove on the Replacement Rubber Grommet for RV Gray Water Tanks # F02-2105 is 3/16". This fits polyethylene tanks with a 2-1/2" drain pipe hole.

To install the 3 inch grommet part #F02-2106 you'd need to drill a hole that is 3-3/4 inches in diameter. The 1-1/2 inch grommet part #F02-2105 requires a 2-1/4 inch diameter hole.
