Question:
I mistakenly bought a kuala Sherpa 2.0 for my e-bikes which have a total weight of about 120 pounds. Can I use this rack if I take the batteries out of the E bikes? I realize it’s not ideal Tha

The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SH22G has a 40lb per bike capacity so unless removing the batteries drops the weight of the bike back down below 40lbs this would not be a compatible option. Technically you should never be hauling your e-bikes with the batteries installed on them. There should've been a note in your e-bike's manual that states to store it inside the vehicle while hauling. Most likely you will need to use a different rack with a higher capacity otherwise you risk damaging the rack and the bikes.
The Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # NV22G has a 60lb per bike capacity and would be the better choice for hauling your e-bikes. If you want to explore some other bike racks that are capable of handling the load then let me know what features you'd prefer, if your e-bikes require a frame or wheel mount, and what price range you're wanting to stick to.

I have a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack and it's been great. I still use it for my regular mountain bike - regular tires. Can the bike rack I have be converted somehow to carry an e-bike - step through fat tire 4.25 inch tire - I would only be carrying 1 bike but the weight without battery is 78 pounds. I'm not sure I'm strong enough to lift the bike but wondering if I have to make my own. Pete
