Will Curt 7 to 5-way Adapter for German Cars and LED Trailers Support Reverse Light Circuit

Question:
Ive got an Audi Q5 2014 with the factory 7-pin plug. If I use this adapter with a 4-pin trailer harness, I assume that never supports a backup light. But if I use a 5-pin harness and a trailer with backup lights, this will support the backup light function? Is there any extra drain on the cars electrical system because of a load resistor in this adapter? And would you also have a 7 pin to 7 pininch adapter that simply fools the cars trailer light control module, and supplies power to the trailer lights all the time, regardless of whether they are LED or tungsten or whatever? The damned car is too smart sometimes. Thank you.

If you used the Curt 7-Way to 5 or 4-way # C35FR that you referenced with a trailer that has a 5-way then yes, the reverse light circuit will be active. If you used it with a 4-way then no it would not. That fifth circuit is for reverse lights.
There would be no noticeable load or drain on the vehicles electrical system from the wiring of this adapter either.
If you needed just a 7-way adapter that will work on the German cars that are sensitive to the LED trailer lights you would want the 7-Way to 7-Way LED Trailer Light Adapter # C57003.
I attached an FAQ article on wiring for you to check out also.
