Is It Normal For SumoSprings Helper Springs On 2019 Toyota 4Runner To Touch Axle Under Light Loads?

Updated 05/17/2023 | Published 05/16/2023

Question:

Hello, I recently installed blue Sumo Springs on my 2019 4Runner on stock suspension. I noticed the springs rest on the rear axle after install. My truck is not lifted, I do have some extra weight, roof rack with cargo box, sliders and some storage panels in the rear cargo area. But no other weight in the truck. Is this normal to see them sitting on the axle? Thank you

Yes, it is normal for the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS68DR for your 2019 Toyota 4Runner to rest on the axle pads with some extra weight on the suspension. These springs were designed with no weight to just sit above the axle. As these springs are much softer than other suspensions such as Timbren they do not require as much clearance since they will not drastically diminish the ride quality.
