Is Just 2" Shank For Thule T2 Classic Replacement Shank Available?

Question:
I have the old model Thule T2 Classic silver color bike rack, but it comes with a 1 1/4 inch shank. My class III hitch comes with a 2inch receiver. None of these are issues since I can always use a hitch adapter to connect the rack to my hitch receiver, but I am concerned about stability with the relatively thin 1 1/4 inch shank on the bike rack. Although 753-3581 is the right part to convert my rack to a 2inch shank, it seems like an expensive option. Instead of replacing the entire unit, is it possible to just unscrew the receiver facing shank see the attached picture? Do you sell only the part which I have highlighted in black instead of the whole unit? Thanks!

I have two options for you, but no, you cannot by just the receiver portion of the replacement 2" shank # 753-3581 as Thule does not sell it by itself.
Your first option is going ahead and spending the money to get the 2" shank # 753-3581 so you don't need any sort of adapter to work with your 2" trailer hitch.
Option two is sticking with your 1-1/4" shank, and using the 2" to 1-1/4" adapter # e58YR along with anti-rattle hitch pin # SHP2061, and anti rattle # RM-061-125.
The combination of these parts will allow you to keep using your existing shank, and will remove any possible movement in the hitch/rack so it will be perfectly secure to use.
It really comes down to if you want to spend the extra money to make it to where you don't need the additional adapters/anti-rattle parts or not, as either option will be secure.
