Troubleshooting Blue Ox Alpha Arms Not Both Fully Engaging
Updated 04/17/2023 | Published 04/15/2023 >
Question:
We have a new Blue Ox Alpha 2 row bar. Do the handles on the legs actually kick into place? It seems one will kick and the other wont even when we drive forward with the motor home the other side locks and the one that was locked unlocks. What are we doing wrong? Thanks

I'm happy to help you out with your Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380. This isn't the most uncommon thing to hear about a Blue Ox tow bar but I've got a solution for you to try out.
Instead of pulling forward with the motorhome, make sure the arms on your tow bar are the exact same length when you connect to your towed vehicle and then slowly back up the towed vehicle until the arms engage. If one of the arms looks to be a little longer than the other then you'll want to turn the steering wheel of your towed vehicle in that direction prior to pulling forward.
If this doesn't work then you might want to check and see if the tow bar needs any maintenance if you've owned it for a while.
Let me know if you're still having issues and I'll ba happy to help you dig into this further!
