Troubleshooting Redarc Tow Pro Liberty that Only Works with Manual Override Lever

Question:

I just installed the red arc liberty pro I. My outback wilderness. I get the breathing blue light when nothing is connected. I hooked up the trailer and I had green/blue flashing. Drive around for 15 min and still green blue flashing. When I push the manual option on controller it works. My concern was , maybe I didn’t get a good splice on the brake switch wire. That’s why it hasn’t configured. Could that be the case or does it need more time driving around ?

It does sound like the brake output circuit is not connected to a 12 volt power source that only sees voltage when the brake is applied. I would verify both the connection to the circuit and that the circuit has voltage when it needs to have it.

Yes you need the diode arrow to point towards the brake controller. That will allow the voltage to travel into the controller but not backfeed back on to the Highlander in any way. If you need a diode we have the part #RM-690.
