Question:

Hi, Im in a similar situation to the person from this question: https://www.etrailer.com/question-303095.html I installed a Tekonsha P2 in my 2019 Highlander, and I too sometimes - maybe 80 of the time get a pre-collision warning when activating the slide switch. Does the addition of the 1 amp diode also apply to the 2019? Im guessing it would, but would like to confirm, if possible. Thanks!

The issue is the wire you ran the red wire of the P3 part # 90195 to. We've heard from Tekonsha that a 1 amp diode needs to install on this circuit to prevent the controller from backfeeding onto the vehicle wiring and this will also work on the 2019 Toyota Highlanders. Or you can use the part # RM-690 from us. The "IN" side would point towards the vehicle.
