Expert Reply:
Yes, the Draw-Tite Class I trailer hitch will fit all models of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata, including your 4-cylinder with single exhaust. Our tech tips note that vehicles with single exhaust, the appearance panel which covers driver's side frame rail must be removed.
This is a Class I rated hitch that is rated for towing up to 2,000 pounds gross towing weight and 200 tongue weight, and is compatible with Class I 1-1/4 accessories only. Since it is Class I hitch, the manufacturers recommended ball mount should be used, and for this hitch it is # 3592. Depending on your towing needs, if you need a 2 inch trailer ball that would be # 19258, if you need a 1-7/8 trailer ball then you would need #19256. These trailer balls are compatible with the ball mount listed above.
We do have a T-one style trailer lighting that will establish a 4-flat vehicle connection for you, and that is the Tow ready harness # 118433. This is a powered converter and features an integrated circuit protector that prevents feedback from the trailer to your vehicle wiring.
I have provided links to the parts listed above, several videos, and several helpful articles for you about trailer hitches for your reference.
