Question:

Getting ready to tow a 2022 Jeep Grand Cheroke WL behind a class A MH. Thinking about the Roadmaster RM EZ5 baseplate but open to input on that. Looking at the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and wondering about the included umbilical wires how many wires and what gauge are they? Hoping for a + and - wire of 14 gauge or bigger. Thanks!

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM77ZR for models with tow hooks or part # RM76RR for models without tow hooks is what I recommend for a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL. These kits typically go on the smoothest without any major modifications required and they reused existing holes when they can. They will then both work great with a tow bar like the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar part # RM-576. The tow bar comes with safety cables and an umbilical so all you need to complete the wiring is a set of diodes like the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes part # RM47ZR. Finally, you'll need a supplemental braking system and for that I recommend the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System part # HM39524 which comes with a charge line for the battery as well.

The umbilical cord has six wires inside, 16 gauge in size which is plenty capable for the lighting circuits.
