Question:
I just purchased a new 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon. I would like to tow my small travel trailer around. I am interested in purchasing a trailer hitch and wiring. I see that you have the Curt hitch and the etrailer hitch. Which one would you recommend?

Though both hitches are very similar for your 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR. I like the etrailer hitch better than the Curt trailer hitch because the etrailer hitch has a matte black powder coating finish which will help conceal scratches and scuffs better than the Curt hitch would. Both hitches have a bolt-on installation.
When installing a trailer wiring harness onto your 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. I like this harness over the other harnesses that we offer because it has a more reliable converter box that will last longer and get more usage than the other harnesses that we offer. You will also need the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45554. This kit includes an 8-1/4 inch long, powder coated ball mount with a pre-torqued hitch ball; hitch pin and clip; hitch receiver lock with keys; hitch cover; and a storage case.
I attached two installation video links below on both the etrailer hitch and the T-One harness being installed onto a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon. The installation process will be the same for your 2023 Subaru Outback Wagon. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I will be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.
