Is There Guide on How Many Thermaheat Elbow Heaters to Use
Updated 11/21/2022 | Published 11/20/2022 >
Question:
Does ThermaHeat provide any guidance on how to size/spec out how many Dump Valve Pipe and Elbow Heating Pads to use for a run of pipe? The tanks pads are relatively self explanatory, but its unclear if the pipe pads should cover every inch of exposed pipe, or be spaced out at certain distances. Do they go at just the elbows, or should they line the underside of long runs of straight pipe? Their competitor, UltraHeat, has step-by-step instructions on picking your system , but Im not sure if that translates directly to UltraHeat, which has different electrical draw and heating specs.

Thermaheat does not have a specific recommendation on how many heating pads to use like with the # 277-000161 that you referenced. You'd have to use your best judgment based on the climate and setup of the pipes on your RV. This was mainly designed for keeping the valves warm but you can use as many as you like. I was not able to pull up the Ultraheat guide you mentioned.
