When weight in the bed or on the hitch makes your rear suspension sag, steering and braking can feel loose. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 6,000 lbs of support over the rear axle to level your ride and cut down on squat. The hollow rubber springs mount above the axle to pick up the slack when you’re towing or hauling, keeping your truck steady and predictable under load.

Bumpy roads and uneven pavement don’t have to mean a harsh ride. The Aeon hollow rubber springs compress progressively—the folds collapse under light loads for cushion, then stiffen as weight increases. This design absorbs shock and road vibration before it hits the cab, reducing bounce and protecting your suspension from bottoming out on rough terrain.

When a curve or crosswind pushes your load off-center, each Timbren spring works independently to stabilize that side of the truck. This independent action cuts down body roll when turning and helps keep off-center loads under control. The result is a planted feel through corners and less sway from trailers or heavy cargo.

Adding real suspension support doesn’t need compressors or hoses. The Timbren system bolts in place of factory bump stops using vehicle-specific brackets and hardware—no drilling required. Once installed, there’s nothing to maintain or adjust. It’s a one-time setup that works automatically whenever you add weight to the rear of your truck.

My order arrived quickly and accurately. I was skeptical about the "easy installation", as I've heard that before! But, it really was. I was able to install the springs with my truck sitting in my garage with no jack. Very easy. Also, they really do what they're supposed to do under load, while having no affect on the empty ride quality.
Happy with them!
Product arrived within a business week. Took a couple days for me to get around to installing it on my Ford 150 Lariat 4x4. Not bad to install, I had to do it laying on my back in my garage. Finally hooked up my 4th wheel to my Andersen hitch today. Truck was level, 5th wheel was level, and I was happy. Ready to rock 'n' roll.
Ordered exactly what I needed and came sooner than expected, easy to install can't wait to load these puppies down and see how well they do. Quality seems amazing and came with all the proper hardware.
Easy to install, does not affect ride when truck is empty. Rides quite rough when loaded with about 7k in my trailer. But it does the job overall. For the money it is fine.
Fit nicely and an easy install. A little stiff when hitting bumps without a load. No issues loaded so far.
I have a 2016 F150 XLT. Max towing package. Front end has spacer to level the truck. Then when i tow it squats really bad. With the weight distribution hitch it still squats. I installed this product and you can see in the picture before and after. With no distribution hitch it’s barely squatting. Fantastic product. Nice thing it allows suspension to flex independently still unlike air bag kits.
Easy installation. Haven't towed tt yet after installing
Seems to be a good product. I haven’t put a trailer on yet to see what they do but I’m happy with it so far
I have a 2016 Ford F150 Regular Cab with 6.5 foot box and 5.0 engine, 6400 lb payload package, 9.75" ring gear with 3.73 gears with a locker. (Hard to find!) Ease of installation is easy, with even minor mechanical skills. I took my time and it was 40 minutes to install both sides. Took some measurement of the factory bump stop distances to the axle - 6.5 inch's approximately. (Would take a lot of weight to compress it that far!! Have hauled some rocks before, almost 1 ton and it was still 3 inchs from touching the axle!)
After installing I took some measurement of the gap between the plates and the rubber that will come into contact with when the suspension compress's. Left side (Driver) was 1.25 inch. (Full gas tank.) Right side (Passenger) 1.50 inch. Have not driven it yet to see how the suspension will ride before these Timbren Rubbers will come into play.
Purchased these to help when I haul a 700 Yamaha Grizzley ATV (750 lbs approx.) and tow a camp trailer with a 550 lb tongue wt. approx. Separately the truck would be level, but with both it was squatting it to much. I am hoping this helps in that situation & to help stabilize the ride.
Gave a 3 for easy of installtion, but yet to be determined how well it will help when towing & or hauling ATV or both, and how the ride will be empty.
First, this is the third truck have have put Timbren SES on, so I am a big fan of this option for a pickup truck. There is no impact to the ride when the bed is empty, when loaded it is a big improvement keeping the truck is a level position, reduced sway.. I would have given this 5 stars, except the lower bracket is rusting. All the other parts are painted black except this one part - see picture... This is after one year, truck is parked in a garage in NC (not a high snow/salt state)...

I continue to be a fan, on my 1019 f150, I used the 1 in spacer, works perfect ! I have dumped 2200 lbs of stone in the bed a few times, no problem.
I just completed installation of my Timbren Rear Suspension for my 2016 Ford F150. In 2012 I purchased this same product from etrailer for my Ford F150, which I upgraded to the 2016. I have a 5th wheel and the Timbren product allows my vehicle to be perfectly level in all situations. A great product!!!

After 1 year heavy use, I still strongly recommend the Timbren shock as the perfect solution for a level towing, hauling ride.
Solid Product! Yeah it's a stiffer ride when loaded But that's the sacrifice made to have more control of the haul while underway. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay more level with a heavy boat/trailer setup as in my case.
Not that install is hard but removal of spare tire before install, may have helped with space if you don't have a lift.

Still holding up great. Have a friend that went with airbags , and is constantly battling leaks
Have made a few hauls with these installed. Absolute game changer for the stability of the truck. Looking forward to see what the longevity is like. Worth the investment for those who haul larger campers or heavy loads in truck bed.
I just received my package. Everybody there has been very professional. They have the knowledge of this product. They made sure that I ordered the correct product for me. Once I install this product I will add photos. I checked out a lot of reviews. All had good feedback. I spoke with many mechanics who told me that this should do what I need it to. I’m not a fan of airbags. Had one before wasn’t happy with it at all. Took it off right away. Terrible ride. This product should not affect my ride when I don’t have a load in my truck or hooked up to my travel trailer. More to come.

Very easy to install. Definitely took any sag out of my ride. At first I had the spacers in. I didn’t need them in. Took them out without any issues. I’m putting a golf cart in my bed of my truck next year. I confident that they should work just fine.
I just installed the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System on my 2019 Ford F-150 4x4. The install was pretty straight forward, but I will say that the written instructions were pretty vague. Reviewing the Video on the e-trailer site was helpful. Also the markings for Left and Right could be improved. The marking “L” was very small and baring readable and the “R” appeared to be under some scratch marks so it was not legible at all. I think this product will help considerably. I have attached photos. The clearance between the rubber spring and the bottom plate is approx 1”. I also previously installed the Equalizer weight distribution & 4 way anti sway system to tow my 30’ Travel Trailer. The Timbren is to prevent any slight squat may occur.

Great
I am very happy with these Timbrens! I was contemplating going with the stiffer version but glad I did not as the ones I installed have done exactly what I was hoping for and more. Not only did it help out with offsetting the rear sag when towing my travel trailer it has made the whole truck feel much more stable when towing. The best part is when the truck is not loaded you don’t even know they are there! I would, and have, recommended these to anyone that is looking to do similar as me. Why spend more on an airbag system that you constantly have to adjust is my opinion. And it installs so easily and the best money I have ever spent on suspension enhancement!

Hey neighbor! I'm happy to hear that even a year later you are still lovin the Timbrens!

After using these Timbrens over the past year they have done everything I wanted them to do! The main purpose for installing these was for pulling my travel trailer. These have made life way less stressful with the extra stability they have given my truck, even on days when travel conditions or at there worst! I stand by my original review and would recommend these to anyone that wants to have vehicle stability at a reasonable price. Once installed you don’t have to worry about fooling around with any adjusting they just work. If and when I purchase a new vehicle I will be installing these first thing!
See my review of the spacers. E trailer simply did me wrong on this whole purchase. I called and talked for a long time with a "product expert" who assured me that she was sending me the right parts for my application, that I could send any part back unless I installed it first. She sent me Severe Service Timbrens for an F-150 that carries a 1700 pound pop up camper. I called Timbren after driving on this system for a while. It is not the right system and it makes the ride awful when installed with the spacers that bring the whole thing into what is called the sweet spot of a 1 to 1 1/2" gap between the Timbrens and the base plates. I am not at all happy with E trailer right now. I couldn't put this stuff on the truck until the weather changed and it is my understanding that as soon as I put them on I can't reutrn any part of the system between the delay of my install and the fact that they are now used, I'm out of luck. I have ordered things from E trailer in the past, but I doubt I will do so in the future. Let the buyer beware, the product experts may not know anything at all and not listen to what you try to explain. So if you buy from them and test fit something onto your vehicle, you probably can't return anything.
I have not had a chance to tow yet with the Timbrens, but they are great quality, fairly straight forward to install, and I have no doubt they’ll be a vast improvement over my stock setup. I will caution to expect longer than 30 minute install time, unless you have a truck that’s never seen winter and you have access to a lift. It took a good amount of effort to remove my old bump stops due to rust and laying under the truck on the ground.
2018 F-150 Crew Cab. I am 100% satisfied with these. The hardest part of installing them was getting the factory jounce springs off. Once I got those off the installation of these went extremely easy. I read some reviews of guys noticing a rougher ride after installing these but I have not experienced that at all. The ride in my truck did not change noticeably. I pull a 30' fifth wheel camper and it doesn't even sag. I am so glad I went this route instead of the more complicated and much more expensive air bag options out there. Great price and service from etrailer as usual.

Sounds like these fit your needs perfectly, Mark! Looks like you're ready for an adventure; where to next?
Excellent upgrade to my F150 to help with squat while towing. I tow a travel trailer regularly and the timbrens work perfectly in concert with my weight distribution hitch to level the truck and provide a more controlled less jarring suspension. And, this is key, they don’t affect unloaded driving or ride height. One more thing: they are insanely simple to install. Took me 45 min on my driveway taking my time. I’ve installed airbags on previous truck and that was a finicky pain in the butt and took all day. Get them!

Glad they are still working well for you, John! These definitely give you support when you need it! : ) What kind of travel trailer are you pulling?

I installed on a 2015 F150 4x4 5.0l. I frequently tow a 20' enclosed Haulmark trailer with a 10K GVW but tow about 7K loaded. The Timbrens didnt quite make it sit level loaded but much better than before. Sway and stability are greatly improved. I wouldnt bother using a swivel for the upper bolt a ratcheting wrench does the trick and installation was a breeze. I highly recommend these.
The Timbren Rear Suspension System worked exactly as advertised. I bought it to level my truck and travel trailer. What a difference it made.

As a follow up to my comments about the Timbren Rear Suspension System, I can only add that I am reminded that it is a great product every time I hook up to my camper.
works better than a helper spring set up

I love to hear that David. I am glad the Timbrens are working out so well for you with the truck camper. That Rogue is pretty fancy, is it a pop up too?
Received the Timbren SES kit in today's mail around 11:30AM, already installed on my 2024 F-150 pickup's rear differential before 3:00PM same day. Like always etrailer's fast delivery time and product info with installation video on your website are very helpful. 1st photo OEM bump-stop, 2nd photo OEM bump-stop removed, 3rd & 4th photo Timbren SES kit installed.

The Timbren system has been working great after a year of use towing, very little rear end sag with 500 pound tongue weight trailer connected.
Absolutely Pleased with the TIMBRENS. They were easy to install, and took less than an hour to install both. I noticed a slight stiffness in the ride as the rear bounced over a bad roadway. Towing is great, with a nice level and smooth ride. I am glad that I did not order the heavier duty Timbrens, than what was recomended for my truck. I believe the ride would have been too stiff. If you look at the photos showing the timbrens, the truck is still lifted in the rear, so what you see is a big gap between the rubber, and the steal plate. When the truck is lowered, there's 1" of space as it should be. BTW, I have been purchasing from etrailer for years now, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with any orders. They are my go to folks for all of my vehicle suppension stuff and trailer stuff. You can't go wrong with buying from them.

Wow, thank you for sticking with us, Don! That is awesome. I think you made an excellent choice here. Timbrens are tough and the heavy duty are SUPER tough. Glad to hear these were a good fit. Love the photos! Is that your own property?

The TIMBRENs work as stated during when I am pulling anything heavy. However, when the truck is not pulling anything, anyone riding in the rear seat gets a very hard jarring jolt when driving over any roadway repairs, bumps, expansion joints on bridges. I wished that I would have went with the Super Springs, or the Road Active Suspension. I may replace the TIMBRENS later.

I spoke with my Timbren representative, who tells me that its likely the full tank of gas is causing the 14 inch space differential between the driver/passenger Aeon spring and the axle. They do have spacers available that are as small as a half inch, but all that would do in your case is make the other side 1/4 inch closer to the axle. Any load thats capable of compressing the suspension so the springs contact the axle would cause both springs to contact at the same time, so that small differential wouldnt be anything to be concerned about. Let us know if youre interested in the spacer, Timbren will send you one if youre interested.
