Question:
Hi there, I have a 1983 Chevrolet K10 Long bed with a 6.2 Liter diesel, and I need to install a brake controller in her. Obviously, I want to be able to control the brakes and in addition all of the trailers lights. What all items do I need.

To control your trailer's brakes, with your 1983 Chevy K10, you are going to need a couple of wiring harnesses. The first one is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 118311. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Chevy's wiring harness, which is located beneath the rear bumper, along the driver's-side frame rail. This will provide you with a 4-flat connector.
The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts the trailer's braking based on deceleration of your vehicle. The brakes activate immediately, there is no pausing like with time-delayed brake controllers.
