Does Power Wire of Curt Trailer Wiring for 2022 Ford Maverick Have to Run to Vehicle Battery

how much is the curt trailer wiring for the maverick rated for? if it is less than 20 amps, could the bed accessory aux power provided by ford be used to power the unit? this is a separate circuit provided for power to accessories.

The Curt trailer wiring harness part # C59DR that you referenced is rated for up to 5 amps per stop/turn circuit and 7.5 amps for the running light circuit. While this is less than 20 amps we still have to recommend you run the power wire for this kit up to the battery of the vehicle and not use any aux circuits. The purpose of this is that when you run straight to the battery you bypass all of the vehicle wiring so in the event of a short on the trailer wiring there isn't any damage done to the vehicle wiring since the short wouldn't get there.
