I was going to purchase this model from a friend, but I have a 2011 Ram 2500 with rails in the bed not pucks… will this work?

Yes, The Replacement Head and Base Assembly for Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # DM6077 can fit your 2011 Ram 2500, but you will need the side plates DM6003 to properly install it.
