Does 1,000 lb Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Need to be Greased

Question:

Have the Blue Ox sway pro, 1000 lb sway bars. Is there a need to grease/lube the end of sway bar that meets the socket on the hitch? Have not been greasing for almost 8000 miles. No apparent wear. Saw on a blog post that greasing was recommended. Please advise. Thanks.

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of the SwayPro, and yes, per the directions you do need to grease the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Clamp On - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # BLU66FR.

As you can see by the cut out of the directions that I added, you do need to grease the zerk on the head assembly where the spring bars meet before each trip, as well as the hitch ball.

For the grease and pump you will need the LubriMatic Moly EP Grease # LM54FR and Grease Gun # L30200.
