Question:

Regarding your reference to an emergency, I assume you were referring to a trailer sway emergency where the trailer needs to be slowed down before it flips the trailer and car. Is that correct? If so, how long are the brakes fully engaged when you push the override button? Can you pump the brakes with the override button by pushing and releasing the button.

That's correct, any emergency like what you're describing would warrant the use of the manual override braking.

The manual override function on the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller - Bluetooth # C27JR will be activated immediately and would also allow you to use your vehicle's brake pedal as well.

The brakes will be engaged until you release the manual override on your trailer brake controller.

I also recommend adding the manual override button # C83HR that way you don't have to rely on your phone to activate it.
