The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller item # RED44FR you were looking at is a great choice for your 2022 Ford Ranger. Since your Ranger has the factory 7-way connector, the wires needed to install the trailer brake controller module are located underneath the dash just below the main wiring harness.
I went ahead and attached a video that walks you through the Tow-Pro installation on a 2019 Ranger. The installation on your 2022 model will be nearly identical.
