Weight Capacity and Best Class I Bike Rack for a Aventon Level Commuter E-bike

Question:
Hello quick question, I am looking at the Kuat 2 bike riack BA12B and it says 60lbs per bike, one of my bikes is 62lbs maybe say 65 for the lights and bag Aventon Level Commuter and my friends is the aventon pace 350 is 49lbs say 50-52lbs to be safe. Will that rack be fine? I assume racks are slightly underrated just in case but wanted to be sure before I that much money. Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't have any issues using the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack item # BA12B with your Aventon Level Commuter e-bike. This rack does have a 60 lbs capacity per bike but from what I am able to find your bike weighs just over that at 60.9 lbs. It is recommended when transporting an electric bike on a hitch mounted bike rack to remove the battery for safety purposes. By doing this you will be well under the rated capacity. The battery on your Aventon can be easily removed by turning the small knob at the top of the battery on the underside of the downtube.
