Replacement Hitch for 2006 Toyota Tundra With Towable Bumper and Factory Hitch Installed

Question:
I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 double cab 4WD. I need a frame mounted hitch as the bumper material that is mounted to the truck currently is starting to rust. It has a bolt on hitch plate that came from the factory that is mounted to the bumper. It has the towable bumper as well but all the frame mounted hitch options on the website state excluding towable bumper Is there anything available that will work with the towable bumper? I have attached some pictures of the bumper I have. I tow a boat that is 3500 to 4000 pounds several hundred miles each year on vacation so I want something able to handle it with ease. Thanks

There has been quite a bit of debating back and forth over whether or not a hitch like the # 13184 can be installed on your 2006 Toyota Tundra. The manufacturers have also had mixed answers on the fit over time. One thing is for certain, installation would require modification of the bumper and also the removal of the factory hitch. Even then, there is no guarantee you will be able to fit a custom hitch on your vehicle.
The best option would be to use a universal hitch like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver - Weld On - Class V - 2" # 41990-07. This is a weld-on hitch so you would need to take it to a certified welder for installation. Keep in mind, although this is a Class V hitch you will still be limited by the capacity of your vehicle. Also, this will still require the removal of the factory hitch for installation.
