Question:
I am looking for a 1000-1500 pound wheel jack that will bolt up to my current welded on jack plate. The 4 holes for the bolts on the plate are 3 by 6 inches on center. The trailer is a McClain galvanized trailer built in 2000. The original jack was also galvanized. The current jack is welded onto the boat trailers side [ shaped frame which measures 2 5/8inch by 4 1/8. The welded on plate is still OK but the plate that bolts onto it is ruined and should be replaced. I am not sure that a bolt on jack will be sturdy when attached to the [ frame. Can you help me decide which jack is appropriate for my boat and trailer

It looks like the jack on the trailer is a Reese swivel jack. The Fulton jack you referenced # FXP15W, should fit in its place no problem. Fulton and Reese are sister companies. However, the bolt holes are 3 inches on center. You will most likely have to have jack mounting bracket # P9012-00 welded on by a qualified professional welder since none of the current jacks/mounting plates are 3 x 6 on center.
You are correct about a C-channel frame. It is not ideal for a bolt on jack. A weld-on option would be your best bet.
