Hey etrailer, I recently bought a tow hitch from you but have a question: What size step style drill bit is needed to widen the access holes for a 2021 subaru crosstrek to install your etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2? Your video is very helpful but it doesnt specify the diameter size of the drill bit he used. Thanks,

You could use a step drill bit in the size of 7/8 inch to 1-1/8 inch which appears to be the size our installer used when installing the etrailer hitch part # e98912 in the install video link I attached.

The etrailer Hitch #e98912 comes with four 1/2-13 x 1 1/2 carriage bolts.

The spacers that come with the etrailer hitch that fits your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek are designed to be used as a way to level the hitch as needed. So if using them causes your hitch to not sit level I would recommend removing them.
