Perfect for casual rides and weekend trips, the Runway HM2 hauls two bikes at up to 33 lbs per bike. Each one rests on a solid platform that keeps them level and balanced while driving. The steel body and anti-rattle hitch pin help keep everything tight in the receiver, cutting down on sway and noise so the bikes stay steady mile after mile.
The padded ratcheting hooks clamp the top tubes firmly without scuffing paint. Each hook moves independently, so bikes of different shapes fit side by side without rubbing. Keyed-alike locking knobs on the arms secure the bikes in place—once locked, the knobs spin freely so no one can loosen them.

Getting to your trunk doesn’t mean unloading bikes. The Runway tilts away even when fully packed, giving quick access to cargo. Pull the rear pin, lower the rack, grab your gear, and lift it back into place. It’s simple and sturdy, built for real-world stops between rides.

When the ride’s over, fold the mast down and lift the trays upright. The folded rack sits close at 14-1/4" from the hitch pin, keeping it out of the way for parking or city use. At just 32 lbs, it’s light enough to remove or reposition solo.

The included adapter sleeve lets the rack switch between 1-1/4" and 2" receivers, covering multiple setups without extra parts. Wheel hoops adjust to fit 20"–29" wheels, tires up to 3.5" wide, and wheelbases up to 56", so everything from small commuters to mountain bikes rides secure.

Unfortunately, the product is a bit prone to rust, so if you think you can just leave it out in the rain attached to your car without consequence, think again. After 1 year, I have discovered that it no longer easily moves up and down while attached to my car do to rust forming between the metal where the joint is. I will have to take it apart and reassemble it. A bit of a pain. Otherwise, its a cheap, sturdy bike rack that gets the job done. I am just a bit upset about the rust.

This bike rack has a specific anti-rattle locking device that is sold separately that will help with sway: Item # MPG2174. Also, you could pair that with some stabilizing straps that will keep your bikes snug: Item # 18050. As for the bike rack not coming off, this needs to be removed when not in use to prevent rust. I would use lubricant like WD40 heavily, and slowly rock back and forth while spraying to get it to loosen.
