Does the Alarm Always Sound in Reverse on the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter with Backup Alarm?

Question:

Can the beep sound be turned off when not pulling anything? Or will my car be beeping anytime I have it in reverse once I install this? Thank you

Expert Reply:

Any time your vehicle is placed in reverse, whether you are towing or not, the alarm will sound on the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter with Backup Alarm item # C57102. To have the same connector without the beeping sound you will want the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter item # C57672. This is the same 7-way and 4-way connector without the alarm.
