The best way I have found to gain the clearance you are looking for to be able to lower your tailgate on your truck with a travel trailer attached is by using an extended ball mount. We have the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20 that is 13-1/4" long from the center of the hitch receiver pin hole to the center of the ball mount. This gives you around 5" more clearance than most ball mounts, but you can verify if it will be enough on your truck with your current ball mount.
If you are using a weight distribution hitch the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 is 6" longer than most shanks. You can compare it with your current shank as this has a length of 14" from the center of the hitch receiver hole to the center of the vertical bolt holes on the hitch.
The Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack # JET-2500 can only be bolted on vertically in the mounting holes already on your trailer.
