Features to know about

Lifts Your Trailer Without the Work: Electric Power with 2,500-lb Capacity

Tired of hand cranking every time you hitch or unhitch? The Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack does the lifting for you. With a 2,500-lb lift capacity and 18" of travel, it powers up or down smoothly at the push of a switch. It draws 24–25 amps under load from your 12-volt supply, giving plenty of strength to handle typical tongue weights without strain.

Built to Handle Weather and Road Grime: Sealed Switches and Durable Materials

Rain, dust, and campsite mud are no match for this jack’s build. The powder-coated steel housing and zinc-plated footplate resist rust and wear. Water-resistant switches protect the electronics, and a vacuum-formed plastic cover keeps moisture out of the motor head. It’s made to sit outside through wet weekends or storage seasons without seizing up or corroding.

Sets Up Fast and Stays Secure: Bolt-On Mount with Standard 3" Pattern

Mounting is simple thanks to the standard A-frame bolt pattern—three holes spaced about 3" apart on center. The included hardware bolts right through most trailer couplers, and star washers help ensure a solid ground connection through the frame. Once installed, the jack’s stable steel footplate (4-1/2" diameter) keeps everything steady when loading, unloading, or leveling your setup.

Works When You Do: LED Light and Manual Backup

Camping often means late arrivals or early departures, so an integrated LED light helps you see the coupler area at night. Bright enough for confident hookups in the dark, it saves fumbling with a flashlight. And if power ever runs low, a built-in handle gives you a manual backup so you can still raise or lower your trailer without waiting on a charge.

Keeps Things Level and Ready to Roll: Easy Checks Before You Tow

A built-in level indicator lets you confirm your trailer is even before hitting the road or setting up camp. Combined with its smooth electric lift, that makes it easy to dial in proper height for hitching and stabilize your trailer for storage—all without breaking a sweat.

The installation was easy. Sure wish they had a custom designed cover that fit snuggly. Also, wish I’d known to get a lower frame brace that is required in the instructions that has to be welded onto the frame. Sure goes up and down easily.

Very happy with this tongue jack. I fits my needs perfectly.

I just installed my new JET-2500 trailer tongue jack in less than 15 minutes. The light and extend/retract work great. I was not sure if an adjustable drop foot is available for more length but do not think it is needed.

This is second purchase, first being Equalizer hitch system which is also even better with electric jack.

Etrailer exceeds customer expectations by follow up email and definite concern to keep their customers satisfied.

Great Company!

Thank-You

Best thing I have done to simplify trailer hook up and disconnect. So far this tongue jack seems to operate just fine but I have nothing to compare it to. Seems to strain a bit towards the top of it's travel but does the job for a good price. It's on an Airstream Basecamp 20X.
by:
It installed very easy. For a 2500lbs jack, it seems a little light weight. It does lift the trailer but seems kinda wobbly because the post size is so small. Other than that it works as advertised. Thank you for getting it to me so fast.

The jack is still working well.

by:
It seems like a good quality jack, but it's a real product failing that a dedicated ground wire is not included in the product along with its dedicated 12V wire. Our Featherlite horse trailer has no battery, so we bought a 7-pin plug and used it to connect the 12V wire to the truck's receptacle. We asked before buying the jack if it could be wired this way and were told yes (or we wouldn't have bought this jack). But when using the jack this way, following the instructions and grounding the jack at its mounting bolts is a problem because as soon as the trailer's receiver loses contact with the ball of the towing truck's hitch, ground is lost and the jack stops working. To prevent this, the factory needs to supply a dedicated ground wire along with the dedicated 12V wire, or better yet a prewired 7-pin plug just like the "plug-and-play" electric trailer jacks Walmart sells for considerably less money. Luckily ETrailer's customer service is great and both Will and Aaron were very helpful, so we were able to sort it out. But a prewired 7-pin plug would have made for a much better experience.

Overall, it is a great product. I really like not having to crank the trailer tongue up and down by hand and it works very well.

One suggestion for Stromberg-Carlson: Turn the motor/gear assembly so it faces away from the front of the trailer, but leave the light to shine on the hitch assembly, etc. The tongue of my trailer is short enough that the hatch on my Traverse cannot be opened when the trailer is hitched. Might apply to a pick up tailgate, too.

Ford F-150
Installation of the the Jet-2500 trailer tongue jack went smoothly. Quality looks good and instructions very straightforward. I hooked up the trailer to my Ford F-150 to find out I can't open the tailgate while hooked up to the truck. I removed the three mounting bolts and tried to turn the jack 90 degrees but the bolt holes don't align now. So I put it back where it belongs and will just have to work around not being able to lower my tail gate while the trailer is hooked up.......

I spent all of 7 minutes pulling off the old crank lift and bolting this baby onto our Jayco Heritage camping trailer . I already love pressing a button instead of my old beat-up crank. The LED throws off a lot of light - may come in real handy. Looking forward to using it in two weeks when we go camping.

I have a buddy that recommended an electric jack for my new trailer
He was right, made the hookup so much easier. The price was half of the one from my dealer. And the response for my order was unbelievable, I ordered the jack on Wed evening about 6 o'clock and got it the next day before 4 PM.

This jack works fine with my Safari Condo Alto F1743 trailer, which only weighs 2,300 lbs loaded. An electric tongue jack is a wonderful convenience to have. And I really like the built-in bubble level, it’s very handy to have and is all I need to ensure that the trailer is level in both directions.

I have had no problems with it except one odd thing: a few months ago as I was about to prepare to level the trailer at my campsite, I looked at the bubble level and...there was no bubble. I called my spouse over and she couldn’t see it either. The trailer was already fairly level; the bubble should be visible. I jiggled the head of the jack, but could not make it appear.

I assumed that the fluid had leaked out of the level, so I went online and ordered a replacement level from e.trailer.com, $16, Item # 2500-3755E, “Replacement Manual Override Cover with Level ”. No big deal. I was back home in a day or two, parked my trailer in my driveway and forgot about it until the replacement part arrived several days later. I went out to the trailer and went to remove the “override cover” on my jack and...there was the bubble, plain as day. I called my spouse out to see it; we were both so surprised! There did not appear to be anything wrong with it. So I did not replace it.

We still can’t figure out how/why the bubble disappeared and then came back. My spouse noted that the day it disappeared it was a “super hot day” but we can’t recall what the air temp was, and I don’t remember it being particularly hot. The trailer was in full sun, which it normally is at our house, near San Francisco, but we don’t now recall where we were camping in California.

Regardless, I highly recommend this tongue jack if you have a small lightweight trailer. Of course Stromberg makes more powerful units for bigger trailers.

Jack works really well doesn’t have a huge amp draw so the battery doesn’t take a big hit if you have to move it up-and-down installation was easy the light for the hitch is nice but it just doesn’t put out much light at all that could use a little boost from a really good LED bulb I would buy it again if I needed it. This has been an overall great experience dealing with etrailer.com. The quality of this jack seems to be very good. It took me all of 15 minutes to install.(I was replacing another power tongue jack, so that may have sped up the process a bit) Very easy install, the jack was ready to install right out of the box. I installed this on my 10' utility trailer which gets quite a lot of use so the power jack is a life saver. I had purchased another power jack from a local discount tool store(a move I sorely regret) and had I seen this jack on etrailer's site then, I wouldn't have gone there. The price here is a few dollars more, but the quality of this product is far better hands down. I know I'll be much happier with this product than I was with the "deal" I got from the other store. My old jack struggled to lift my trailer from day 1 but this one travels up and down with ease. So far I'm very pleased with this jack.

I have not as yet installed the jack.....however the customer service regarding the purchasing and delivery of the jack was outstanding. Communication with etrailer and servicing of the order was the best that I have ever experienced with an on-line company. Delivery was within a few days of my order on-line. I will definitely consider etrailer first when I shop for parts and accessories again.....Pete

My Stromberg Carlson Tongue Jack was destroyed when the trailer became unhitched on the freeway. I contacted Etrailer who had it in stock and shipped the same day that I ordered. Throughout the shipping I was informed of it's progress and they delivered the day they said it would. Etrailer prices are excellent as is their handling.

I purchased this product for a completely off the wall reason, i try to make or modify differant things to fit the need at the time. this jack was used as a lifting device, for a power chair carrier. This use may be a little unusual but my grandfather was a blacksmith, and he taught me to build things to work as needed not to spend a lot of money to get what everyone else says is best. I shopped around for a power lift, and did not care fot the materials or the designs on most, and did not like the price of the really well built models. Your jack is rated heavy enough and is working fine for this purpose, with minor mounting modifacations, as of this time I am trying to redesign a manual cherry-picker and could possibly use another one of your products on that project. Your web site made it easy to find what I needed and the quality seems to be very good, also thank you for the quick delivery time.

This jack has worked perfectly for the past year. It raises and lowers my RPOD effortlessly, especially useful since I have a weight distribution hitch that requires two cycles to hook everything up. I and my back would recommend this without reservations.

  • Recommended Powered A-Frame Trailer Jack for a T@B 320 Teardrop Camper
Yes, the vast majority of a-frame trailer jacks use the same bolt pattern which is 3" apart on center. Therefore you should have no problems whatsoever using an electric a-frame trailer jack on your T@B 320 S teardrop camper. For this, I actually recommend the Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack part # JET-2500 over the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack part # JET-3755 because it weighs less, 23 lbs vs 26 lbs. The 2,500 lb weight capacity will be more than enough for your...

The Electric tongue jack for a trailer is determined by the actual tongue weight of the trailer. Normally this is 10-15% of the total trailer weight when loaded, but a jack is one area where having something rating larger than needed will not cause an issue. We have jacks ranging from 1,400 lbs to 5,000 lbs rated capacity and with tongue jacks they are almost always rated far higher than the actual tongue weight because a 1400 lb tongue weight is quite a bit and 5,000 lbs would be more...

No you're right on track, a tongue jack like the Stromberg Carlson Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack # JET-2500 that you mention is not designed to support the entire weight of your trailer, only a portion of the weight. When it comes to choosing an electric tongue jack for your camper, you're going to want to make sure that you're choosing a jack that can support 10-15% of your total tongue weight.
