Question:
I need a receiver hitch for my 2022 Ram 1500 truck. What would you suggest? I'm not looking to pull stumps or tow the space shuttle, but I'd like something with a high capacity should I need it in the future. The vehicle currently does NOT have a hitch.

2022 is a split model year for the Ram 1500. There's the new body style, which is simply referred to as the Ram 1500, or the previous body style that's been carried over as the Ram 1500 Classic. Since the hitches aren't interchangeable between the two, the hitch you need will depend on which model you have.
How to tell the difference? The Ram 1500 has a flatter hood and the emblem in the center of the grille has 'RAM' spelled out. The 1500 Classic has a more curved hood, with the center of the hood being higher, and the edges curve down and flatten into the fenders. The grille has the Ram big horn emblem in the middle.
For the Ram 1500, I'd recommend the Curt Class V hitch, part # C15005 which has a 15000 lb towing/1700 lb tongue weight capacity. Plenty for stumps, but for Space Shuttles probably not so much.
For the Ram 1500 Classic, the US made Curt Class V hitch # C15572 is what I'd go with. The hitch has a 15000 lbs towing/1500 lbs tongue weight capacity that will easily handle any towing job you'll likely encounter (no spacecraft, though...).
Keep in mind, though both hitches recommended have a high capacity, the actual capacity will be limited to the towing capacity of the truck itself.
