Question:
I bought the Curt 56236 harness for my 2011 Mk6 Golf and Im trying to identify which wires are which on my cars tail lights. There are three wires on each tail light, but I dont know which one is the brake/tail light, which is the ground and which is the turn signal. When installing your wiring to your 2011 MK6 Golf the wiring should match up with Curt Wiring # C56236. The green wire goes to the right turn signal. The yellow wire goes to the left turn signal. The white is the ground wire. The black wire goes to the positive side of the battery, and the brown wire is for your tail lights.
If you're still having problems with which wire goes where I recommend getting The Hook Probe Circuit Tester Kit # PTW2993. This can be used to find electrical shorts, check polarity, and check battery drain.
