Recieved 3 days earlier than told when first ordered on-line. Have yet to use, but it is installed on my 2011 VW Golf. Did have problem with it dragging the ground backing out of driveway on steep incline.

I'm very happy with this hitch on my 2011 VW Golf. Installation was cake. I had it done in 20 minutes. I did need to touch up some scratches from the warehouse and shipping. etrailer sent me a can of paint at no cost.

I just purchased the car new and checked with the VW dealer to see if they sold a hitch for this car---no luck. So I went to the web and found etrailer and the Curt 1100 hitch. After looking under the car I wondered where a hitch would fit around the exhaust tail pipe and exhaust system hangers. I took a chance and ordered the hitch. It arrived in two days.
Allowing 15 minutes to unpack the hitch, read the instructions and doing some planning, I had the hitch on in the advertised 30 minutes. I drove the car onto two pieces of 2" X 10" lumber scraps laid flat and that gave me just enough clearance to slide under the car and work. Great product, great service. Its nice to buy something that actually works as advertised. If I can put this hitch on so can you!
Shipped extremely fast, worked just as it said it would!!! I'm very pleased with this order, and would definitely shop here again. The hitch was extremely easy to install and is very sturdy and holds my Thule bike rack nice and sturdy.
Was a snap to put on. Only thing I had to do was barrow a torque wrench to make sure I met the specs. Works great with the Saris hitch mount bike rack I bought. Couldn't be more pleased. Thanks etrailer.com! You helped me pick it out and you delivered it to my door in no time at all.
Delivery excellent; Installation was a snap; the design of the tow bar is very good, but would be improved if a metal bracket to hold the 4 prong connector of the wiring harness had been added to the right side. This would make a neater installation and keep the wires away from the safety chains. Also, the red and yellow wires were about 30" short with the module mounted on the rear wall of the wheel well. I plan to make a clamp on bracket to hold the connector atop the tube just right of the receiver.
I'm excited to have the hitch mount. I used to have a hatch mount for my bikes, but they tend to destroy the paint and my wiper became useless, so with my new car I needed a hitch mount bike rack. Here are a few pictures I just took.
Hitch fit as described. Spent more time locating correct tools, jacking car, and calibrating torque wrench. The exhaust hanger/exhaust muffler is close in proximity to the hitch structure but I have not visually or audibly detected contact.

Arrived in a timely manner, as is described on website, packaging was really good, and works perfect on my VW Golf 2013. The only thing I would say doesn't have to do with the product, but the directions in installation. Tip: buy new bolts when removing oem bolts on your VW Golf 2013. Mine torqued to specifications caused the bolt to break. Was a pain to remove a broken bolt, so for others, just go to VW dealership and get 2 new bolts (plenty on hand). Nonetheless, this is such an easy installation. I purchased ramps to work under my car, rented torque tool at car parts store and elongated socket I had to buy. Save yourself money when you follow my tip. I'm certainly enjoying having a hitch! Thanks etrailer.com best price all around!

Extremely easy install on my vw golf , although they were wrong about installation time , they said 15 min , it was actually 17 min ??, great instructions & fast service , no complaints, nice low profile considering my vw is already VERY low , snug fit , perfect !

It is perfect
Was easy to install and it seems extremely solid; even better than the hitch I mounted on my old 2000 VW Golf. For this one I didn't need to drill any holes.

Still works great. Just used it last week.
Overall good hitch. Feels solid after installation. No issues so far.
However, I will say installation took me 4 hours. I’m a bit of a rookie, but even still, that’s a far cry from the 30 minute estimation in the instructions. I can imagine 30 minutes might be possible if you are working in a car shop with a lift and you also remove the back wheels. However, if you’re working in a driveway like me, prepare for a lot more time.
I got this for my son so he could haul his e-bike on a bike rack. He absolutely loves it. Ordering was simple and delivery was quick.

Great! He actually leaves it hooked up to his hitch year round. Never know when you want to go for a bike ride.
I received the hitch and my husband and I installed it the next day. Well, we took it to our mechanic. He had it installed quickly. He said it was a great piece of engineering. We now have our bike rack on there and it works great.
I would definitely recommend these hitches, as would my mechanic who was surprised we could order this. Everything went on exactly as planned.

This is the first trailer hitch I've had, and I am super happy with it. Not only did it arrive quickly in the mail, but it was also quick (for my brother) to install- took him about 20 minutes. The hitch looks pretty stealth, barely visible under the back of my VW. The other reviews were very informative and made it easy for me to select this one. Thanks eTrailer!
The hitch was delivered in 3 days! The instructions were easy to follow. It took me more than the advertised 30 minutes, but that is because the GTI is very low and I did not raise the car or drive onto boards or ramps. I did approach the bolts from the sides behind the wheels. Tilt the hitch and slide under rear first.

Easy install - took less than 30 minutes and that was with back trouble. I don't own a torque wrench so after I completed it, I took it to my local mechanic and he finished tightening it up.
I only had trouble with clearance issues once and that was pulling out of my driveway which I rarely park in. Otherwise, it's carried two bikes on a 300 mile round trip very nicely. Very pleased!

I found it very problematic going up to small incline with a passenger on the back seat. The hitch reduces the clearance by approximately 2 inches, which is a lot for a car such as Golf with already low suspension.This hitch is perfect to flat roads and highway , but you can forget about going on uneven terrain. The dragging of the hitch on the ground is horrible!
