Question:

I have a 2022 Ford F-150 that I want to flat tow behind a class A motorhome. I already have a Blue Ox Alpha 2 tow-bar from my previous towed that I would like to reuse but need the remaining full package for flat-towing.

For a complete flat towing setup you need 5 primary items, a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring to link your towed vehicles indicator lights with your motorhome, and a supplemental braking system. Sometimes additional items may be necessary for braking and/or charging system and possibly a high-low adapter. This is used to adjust the tow-bar angle to ensure it sets in that desired +/- 3" of level range.

For your 2022 Ford F-150, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar, # BX7380 that you already have and comes with the needed safety cables.

I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BLU33FR that fits all trim levels of the 2022 Ford F-150.

The Roadmaster Wiring Kit, # RM-152-1676-7 for indicator lights.

For supplemental braking, I suggest the Roadmaster InvisiBrake System, # RM-8700 and the relay kit, # RM-88400 along with the Stop Light Switch Kit, # RM-751000 and the Charge Line Kit, # RM-156-25.

As mentioned above, you will possibly need a high-low adapter to level the tow bar to your vehicle, so I have included a link to a helpful article that goes over how to measure for the correct adapter, and a link to all of our high-low adapters for you to take a look at.
