Hello Jim,

Great question, and I’ll start with a clear answer. Yes, the Blue Ox Bulb and Socket Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Incandescent # BX8869 can fit a 2024 Jeep Gladiator, but only if your tail light housings have enough internal space, which is typically true for halogen setups and often not the case for sealed LED lights.

I completely get the concern about drilling. That risk really comes down to the tail light design. If your Gladiator has sealed LED housings or very limited internal clearance, drilling is not recommended because there may not be a safe place for the socket to seat without damaging the housing. On the other hand, if you have halogen tail lights with open space behind the lens, the # BX8869 can install cleanly and give you a dedicated incandescent bulb powered by your RV without touching the factory wiring at all.

For most 2024 Gladiators, especially those with LED tail lights, the best primary option is actually a diode wiring kit or plug in harness, since it avoids drilling altogether while still protecting your factory wiring. The # BX8869 is still a solid choice if you confirm space, but it is more dependent on the physical layout of your tail lights than other options.

If you do want to go with the # BX8869, the safest approach is to remove the tail light first and verify there is a flat, open area where the socket can fully seat without interference. That quick check is what prevents the worst case scenario of drilling and not being able to use the kit.

What are you towing your Gladiator behind, and what kind of trips do you usually take with it?

This is an excellent choice for rear lighting, IF your taillight housing has space inside for an additional bulb. It becomes a completely separate lighting circuit that doesn’t require cutting into the vehicle wiring and messing around with diodes. I was fortunate, having a Ram truck with the “old fashioned” incandescent bulbs and plenty of room in the housing for a second bulb. Whether these will fit in the Jeep taillight housings will require some assessment, and though I’m not familiar with the Jeep, they seem to keep the add-on afterthought-looking taillights of years past. The newer sealed LED fixtures may not have space or accessibility to add the second bulb.

@DaveS Thanks for the response, Dave. You also made me realize I forgot to include the picture of the bulb measurements so he can make the necessary assessments. @Jim, if you go to the product page and scroll down a bit, you’ll find the dimensions listed there. I can’t add pictures to comments or I would.
