Question:

Hello, Can you recommend a coupler repair kit for a 2015 Jayco Jayflight 26BHS? It is extremely difficult to connect and disconnect the hitch to the ball. The ball is 1 year old and in good condition. I am assuming a coupler latch repair kit will help, but am open to your recommendations. I do use a hitch ball lubricant. Thank you.

The Repair Kit for etrailer and Ram A-Frame Couplers # CA-5100-RK only fits the following couplers # CA5100B, CA-5100-BLB, and # CA-5100-Z, so it would not solve your connection difficulty, unless you had one of these specific couplers.

Aside from lubing the hitch ball the only other solution would be to replace your coupler with an easier coupling design like the Demco A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch # DM14793-97 or the weld-on version # DM14791-97.

The eZ-Latch coupler mechanism ensures a simple, secure hookup and disconnect every time. This design allows you to hook up when the latch is in the closed position, just drop the coupler over hitch ball and latch will snap into place. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the contoured handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
