Question:
My trailer has Goodyear Assurance ST225/75R15 tires for trailers. The smaller lettering is ST225/75R15 117/112R load range E. ‘Max load inflate to 80lb’ The trailer is a new 2022 Grand Design 5th Wheel Reflection 150 Series, Model 226RK. The wheels themselves have 6 nuts on them each – I’m pretty confident from all of the research I’ve done the proper notation is 15 x 6, 6 -5.5, 2830 lbs (that is the max weight each tire can have – there are two tires in sequence (not ‘double wide’ form) on each side. The trailer is relatively small – 28 ft long – it is the smallest 5th wheel Grand Design makes. I have a spare under the trailer already, but I have an extra tire (the tire referenced above) and I want to buy a wheel for it so I can have a second spare for long trips - Can you confirm - and recommend the best wheel for me? Also, what is the difference between white, silver or black steel wheels? The price range seems to vary widely.

I would be happy to help you find a wheel so you can have another spare tire for your 2022 Grand Design 5th Wheel Reflection 150 Series, Model 226RK and clear up any questions about the differences in wheel finishes. We have multiple options for spare wheels that fit your Goodyear Assurance ST225/75R15 tire. With the exception of the Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Galvanized Finish item # AM46ZR, which is galvanized and more for a boat, the only difference between the other wheels is color. All three have the same rim dimensions at 15" diameter x 6" wide with a pilot diameter of 4.27". Their bolt patterns are all 6 on 5-1/2". They have a capacity of 2,860 lbs each. They also come with a 2-Year limited warranty. Your choice in the three Dexstar wheels will come down to what color you want your spare tire to be.
Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Black item # AM20560
Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - White Powder Coat item # AM20532
Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver Powder Coat item # AM20539
For a valve stem I recommend the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem - 1-1/4" Long item # AM20906. This valve stem will fit all four of the wheels listed above.
