Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • What Does JJ Mean on Trailer Wheel Size
The "JJ" that you mentioned finding on the wheel size listed for the units mounted to your trailer refer to the contour of the bead seat on the wheel, essentially its shape ( "J" indicates the shape of the letter J). This isn't typically something you need to be worried about in terms of fit when looking at replacement wheels for your trailer or existing tires. The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel part # AM20539 is a 15 by 6 inch wheel like you mentioned needing.

  • Replacement Steel Wheels For A 1976 Airstream Tradewind
There isn't a guide to tell us exactly what was on your 1976 Airstream Tradewind so you'll want to doublecheck the measurements just to be sure. For a 15" x 6" steel wheel with a 6 lug pattern and 1/2" wheel studs you could use the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20539. This wheel has a 6 on 5-1/2 wheel bolt pattern, which is pretty standard, but you'll want to verify the bolt pattern you have just incase the hubs have something unusual. You can measure from the center of one of...

  • Recommended Wheel for ST225/75R15 Goodyear Endurance Tire on a 6,000 lb Travel Trailer
Your Goodyear Endurance Tire is the ST225/75R15 size that you are looking for. This has a load range of E (2,860 lbs at 80 psi) and a max speed of 87 mph just like what you currently have. For a wheel I recommend the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20539 which is a silver color, has the same weight rating, comes with a limited 2-year warranty, and is made here in the USA. According to the attached psi chart from Goodyear the max amount of pressure that this tire can handle is...

  • How to Measure Width of Special Trailer Wheel
All of the 15-inch special trailer wheels we offer in the 6-on-5-1/2 wheel bolt pattern are 15 x 6-inch and are shown on the linked page. When measuring the width of a trailer wheel you measure between the two bead seats, not the overall width of the entire rim. Please refer to the linked photo diagram that shows this width dimension. Most of these wheels have a pilot hole (hub hole) diameter of 4-1/4-inches and most have zero offset. We do indicate pilot hole diameter and offset (if...

The Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - E-Z Lube - 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 86-1/2" - 5.2K # 8327816-EB will not work for your spring locations and are also too long for your application. My recommendation is to use the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension - Spindle Only - Regular Tires - 5200 lbs # ASR5200S01 which will attach directly to your frame, and includes the suspension you need. This integrated suspension with replace your leaf springs. You will then use a 2 inch square tube...

  • Replacement 15 Wheel with 6 Lug Bolt Pattern Rated for 110 Psi
I recommend checking out the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver Powder Coat # AM20539 which will be able to handle the weight capacity and psi rating when used with the Metal Valve Stem # AM20906. Attached are some review videos for you to check out.

  • Recommended Replacement Trailer Tires for 8.75R16.5 Tires
The 8.75 R16.5 size tires you're looking for are normally used for passenger-type vehicles which have more flex in the sidewall for better ride quality but trailer tires have a stiffer sidewall which helps to better stabilize heavier loads that trailers are normally subjected to. For your application I recommend checking out the Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # TR225LRE which has similar dimensions to your current tires and is a Load Range E (2,830 lbs at 80 psi) with an 81 mph...

  • Does Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel AM20539 Have PSI Rating
The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver Powder Coat # AM20539 does not have a max PSI rating, or any PSI rating. That is common among trailer wheels because the PSI is determined by the valve stem and not the wheel. For example the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20904 that fits this wheel has a max PSI of 80.

  • Recommended Heavy Duty 15 Steel Wheel With 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern
I recommend the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 in Black # AM20560, White # AM20552, or Silver # AM20539. Each of these wheels have the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you are looking for, and a load rating of 2860lbs which matches the load rating of a 225/75R15 Load Range E tire like the # LHWL304. The main thing is making sure the valve stem you use is rated for the 80 PSI that an 275/75r15 Load range E tire uses. I recommend the # AM20906 which is rated for...

  • Trailer Wheel that Can Hold a 225/75-15 Tire at 95 PSI
The psi rating is a limitation of the valve stem used. Our 15 inch wheels with 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern will be able to handle a 225/75-15 tire that requires 95 psi provided that the proper valve stem is used. I do recommend a metal valve stem such as # AM20906. We have a lot of wheels in this size and bolt pattern so I have included a link to them all for you.

  • Availability Of Taskmaster ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Tire W/ Silver Mini Mod Trailer Wheel
Currently all of our trailer wheels and tires come pre mounted from the manufacturer, we do not do any mounting or balancing in our facility. We do offer the Taskmaster ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Tire w/ 15" Vesper Silver Mod Wheel # TA85RR which is very close to what you are looking for. It has the same Tire # WST54FR, but uses a Vesper Wheel # TA52FR in place of the Dexter Wheel # AM20539. These wheels are not mounted but are not balanced since trailer tires do not require balancing....

  • Can You Use Larger Pilot Hole Diameter on 15 Inch Trailer Wheel w/ 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Yes, you can switch from to a 15 inch wheel with a larger pilot hole diameter than what you currently have, so long as you go with a lug-centric wheel. Those are the most common (by far) and that just means the wheel centers and mounts to your hub's lugs as opposed to the hub bore. So you can go with any of the following, which all have a 4.27" pilot hole diameter and 0.453" valve stem hole diameter: - Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - White Powder Coat...

We will not have an exact 7.00-15 tire though. The Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20539 has a 15 inch diameter and is 6 inches wide, and will fit the tire mentioned above. It has a weight capacity of 2,860 pounds, and has a silver powder coated finish that will provide excellent corrosion...

  • Will the Aluminum Viking Series Valhalla Trailer Wheels Fit a 2006 Vintage Outlaw
The fit would really depend on the tires and bolt pattern you currently have, and I wouldn't have any idea of what you've currently got - for reference these wheels are 15" in diameter, 6" wide, and uses a 6 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern. As far as weight capacity goes, these wheels only have a 2,830 lb weight capacity (5,660 lbs combined) so they're not going to be strong enough for your 10,000 lb trailer. It looks like all of the wheels in that size has the same 2,830 lb capacity except...

The rim # AM20514 that you referenced has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern with a 3.65 inch pilot diameter. For a wheel and tire that has the same bolt pattern but has a pilot diameter of 4.27 inches you would want the part # AM20539. Some of the wheels have tires too if that's what you are looking for.

  • 6 Lug Trailer Wheel that is 15 inch Diameter that Fits Tire Size 225/75-15
The widest rim width we have in the size you mentioned would be 6 inches wide like the part # AM20539 which if you measured with a ruler would measure 7 inches wide since you add an inch for the lip. This has the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern you need and also fits the tire size you mentioned of ST225/75R15 as well.

The tires are going to take up most of the room in diameter and width and same size tire will fit the 15 inch x 5 inch and the 15 inch by 6 inch rim.
