You don’t need to overthink mounting hardware—this wheel is designed for common 1/2" studs, with a torque range of 90-120 ft-lbs for a proper clamp load. That spec gives you the confidence that once it’s tightened down, the wheel will stay secure without risking damage to the lugs or hub.
The JJ bead profile makes pairing tires simple while maintaining a reliable seat for consistent air retention. The valve hole measures 0.453", fitting standard valve stems like part # AM20904 or higher-pressure options when needed. It’s those small details that make life easier when you’re setting up your wheels right the first time.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Dexstar 15 inch by 6 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with a 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this wheel's a nice sturdy steel construction. It is a modular design. By that we mean it is the one that has the round holes all the way around. This gives you excellent corrosion resistance, has a nice silver powder coated finish over an e-coat primer.
This is a high quality wheel which will meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. And this wheel is made in the U.S.A. A few dimensions on the wheel, I wanna give you the diameter of it. It's gonna measure 15 inches and that's measured inside to inside. So if we go across, straight across, there's your 15 inch diameter.
The width on the wheel, in the same way, it's gonna be inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. There's your 6 inch width, and the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, six. It's pretty simple because the lug holes are directly across from each other. So when you go to measure it, just pick any lug hole, let's say this one, measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it.
On this wheel, it'll measure 5 1/2 inches, so it is a 6 lug, 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. And the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here, goes over the hub on your trailer. Diameter of that opening is 4.27 inches. And the last thing is the capacity on this.
The weight capacity on this wheel is 2,860 pounds. But that'll do it for the review on this Dexstar 15 inch by 6 inch silver modular steel trailer wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

Steel wheels are a great replacement for aluminum trailer wheels. These wheels will provide years of service, can be repaired much easier if the need arises and low maintenance.

These are a really nice looking basic trailer rim and they are MADE IN USA, according to the stamping on the wheel which really surprised me. I used them on my flatbed trailer, after converting it from mobile home hubs to a standard 6 x 5.5 hub. With the free shipping, I saved between $5 and $15 a wheel versus all of the local tire shops, so I bought a 5th wheel to have a good spare. After having a good quality trailer tire installed on them, very little weight was required to balance them and they ride extremely smooth. Very happy with these rims and the packaging for shipping was top notch.

I had 2 wheels delivered. Brand new tires mounted on both. One wheel balanced fine. The other wheel appears to be welded in at an angle, or maybe the wheel is just bent that much? Tire shop told me they put on the 8 oz of requested weight that still wobbles, but that really i just needed to buy a non-garbage wheel.
I even had them swap the tires from wheel to wheel to eliminate any issues the tire could cause.
My sample size is small, but 50% of wheels delivered were unusable, and I am still debating whether I cut my losses and buy another brand wheel, or try to warranty it, wasting more time and money going back to the tire shop twice.
Two new rims complements existing 2 rims as a matching set of 4 rims.

Working as intended.
rim developed a pin hole in it shortly after we recieved it and the warranty was a joke. i do not recomend buying wheels again

Wheel is holding up well no leaks after a year… it is only a spare but it’s nice not having to constantly top off a spare.

Rim looked great and was delivered in short order.
Tho only thing I noticed was sharp burrs on the valve stem hole which I de-burred myself before taking in to have a tire mounted on it. Purchased for spare boat trailer wheel.
