Installing 322-RDJ-2K Ultimate Trailer Jack
Updated 01/12/2022 | Published 01/08/2022 >
Question:
I just purchased the jack and installed it. Then yeah then I read the instructions and noticed that they state 4 - CRITICAL you/I must Remove plastic retainer and apply either thread lock tape or locking compound to the threads of retainer bolt. WHY do I need to remove the plastic retainer? Dont I just need to remove the retainerinch bolt and apply the locking tape/compound to the BOLT????? I havent removed the bolt yet and havent used/moved the trailer since installing dont need to yet but i would like to make sure that I am doing everything so that I do not void the warranty or screw the jack up actually I do want to screw the jack upinch but only when I need to to lift the trailer. Thanks James

According to the manufacturer, the bolt and the plastic retainer of the # 322-RDJ-2K Ultimate trailer jack are removed, then replaced after thread lock is applied to the bolt threads. Be sure that the V that protrudes from the retainer rides in the V groove on the jack upright. This is done because the retainer could get dislodged when the bolt is removed, so be sure it's in the correct position when the bolt is reinstalled.
