Do you recommend using blue or red locktite when installing a class 2 hitch?

Using Loctite when installing a trailer hitch is not required but it can certainly be used to create an even stronger bond. Blue Loctite like the Blue Stick # LT37643 is plenty sufficient for this application.

As long as the hardware for your hitch is properly torqued down according to the installation instructions though Loctite is not needed for a safe and proper connection to the vehicle.

In most cases Loctite is not required when installing a trailer hitch, but it would not be a bad idea. I suggest using the Loctite Blue Stick Threadlocker, #LT37643, which will provide a secure grip and protect against water and grime.
