Replacement Tire Recommendations for a Double Jet Ski Trailer with 4.8 by 12 Tires

Question:
I have a double jet ski trailer. It came with a 4.8 by 12 tire. I plan on doing mostly highway driving speeds, will it hurt to drive at 70 to 75 mph? Do I gain anything by moving to a 5.3 by 12 vs the 4.8 or is it a waste of money to go with the 5.3? One jet ski is about 650 lbs, the other about 850. The trailer says its rated at 1900 lbs. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thank you

The first suggestion I have is for you to not exceed 65 miles per hour when towing your trailer. I wish there was something I could recommend that would allow you to tow faster than that, but unless stated otherwise trailer tires are limited to only going 65 miles per hour and need to be inflated to their maximum psi.
For what you are trying to do I would just stick with the size you currently have on your trailer, going to a bigger size would not allow you to go any faster and you know the current size will fit without clearance issues so I would just stay with what you have if I were you.
For a replacement tire I would recommend the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10062, this is the size you need.
If you need a wheel as well, and your wheel bolt pattern is 4 on 4 then the Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with wheel would work well for you as well. I attached an FAQ article on determining bolt patterns as well as an article on trailer tires for you to check out also.
