Tire Chain Recommendation for 275/65R20 Tires on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:
I have a 2021 Silverado 2500HD with Z71 package with LT275/65R20 all terrain tires. The owners manual says do NOT use tire chains on this size tire. I live in the Gulf Coast and I am headed to Montana in February. It just does not make sense to drive in the Rocky Mountains in February without tire chains. Any suggestions including recommendations on tire chains would sure be appreciated. Thanks!

While we do recommend following the guidelines in your owner's manual, if you're determined to use tire chains for the 275/65R20 tires on your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 then I recommend using the Konig Snow Tire Chains - XD16 Pro - Size 280 # KON64FR as these have a Class S rating and are very easy to install. They also require 16mm of internal clearance so that's something else you can check. I typically recommend installing the chains once you get them just so that you will know exactly what to do when you have to install them in the elements.
Also keep in mind that when the owner's manual says not to use chains it usually means that there are clearance issues on the back side of the tire so if you do use chains you'll run the risk of them hitting brake lines or other components.
