Question:
I have a 1985 Coleman Chesapeake tent trailer that has 20.5x8-10 load range D tires on it currently. I saw on the internet where a person replaced these with a 5.3 -12 bias tire. I was wondering what you thought about this and if I would have any fitment issues. As best I can tell there is about 3 clearance with the current set up from the the top of the tire to inner fender. The tent trailer weight 995 pounds so I am not sure why the load range D....wouldnt load range C be adequate?

If someone with your exact tent trailer replaced the 10 inch wheel and tires with a setup that had the tire size 5.30-12 instead then that would be enough info to know that it would work. You'd lose about an inch of fender well clearance.
Based on the weight of the trailer you could easily use a Load Range C like with the part # AM30820 which has a 5 bolt wheel pattern and a weight capacity of 1,045 lb per wheel and tire.
For a 4 lug bolt pattern you could instead use the part # AM30780.
