When you’re not towing, you don’t want bulky hardware cluttering up your front end. This base plate’s hidden design keeps everything out of sight for a clean, seamless look. The removable arms twist out easily, so there’s nothing sticking out past the bumper to bump your shins on. Snap-in receiver covers plug the openings to keep out dirt and debris until it’s time to tow again.
Connecting your tow bar is straightforward with the twist-lock attachment. Each arm slides into the receiver and locks with a simple turn, then secures using a pull pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, twist, and remove—no tools or struggle required. It’s an easy system that makes solo hookups quick and consistent every time.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis using included hardware, so no welding is needed. Its sturdy steel build spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help reduce stress on suspension components during long hauls. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion for lasting durability through road grime and weather.
The lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection, and adapters are available for Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) or Demco (DM9523041) tow bars if you already own one of those setups. Integrated mounting points make it simple to attach an electrical connector bracket (sold separately), so your wiring stays tidy and easy to reach.
If you like doing your own work, this kit is ready for a straightforward install. It bolts to existing chassis points using supplied hardware—no welding needed. With a bracket spacing of 37-1/4" and bracket height of 20", it’s easy to plan your tow bar alignment before hitting the road.

Exact fit working as it should
I did not install this myself. However the installer said it was pretty simple. Yesterday towed my vehicle for the first time and the hook up was pretty straight forward.
This fits perfectly, and with the video and instructions, it was an easy installation.
Received them the next day & it was free shipping, very well packaged. Have not installed thought I would wait till I got the wiring kit for lights.
All went together without issue. Please note, even though assembly refers to wrench sizes when referencing nuts and bolts, torque specs are referring to bolt diameter. Mistaking those could lead to over torqued or even stripped tap plates!

My installer’s supplier told them that these weren’t available for the 2022 Cherokee, but I found them on Etrailer.com. They are working great.

The tow plates are spot on but plug bracket wasn’t made for six prong plug I had to redesign it a bit for it to work and when I got the plates the hardware wasn’t there had to wait another week and a half for it to come in to finish the job.. for those two things I’m giving it 4 stars

Perfect fit for the Jeep

After one year and about 9,000 miles, the base plates are performing well with no issues.
Just installed the Blue Ox BX1143 on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Installation went well and the instructions were spot on. Also watched a couple etrailer videos which also helped. Easy enough to install in my driveway. Hardest part was removing the front fascia. You would have to do that no matter what baseplate you install. I also liked this unit because you didn’t have to modify or grind on the frame like other style baseplates. Just finished so haven’t towed car yet but don’t anticipate any issues.
Very easy to install follow the video instructions on the etrailer website. I’m very satisfied!!
