In order to flat-tow your your 2018 Chevy Equinox, you will need base plates, a tow bar, a tow braking system, and vehicle tow wiring. It is important to note that your owner's manual does not recommend flat-towing with the 2.0L I4 Gasoline Engine - Turbocharged model. Here's a setup of the following parts you need:
- etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98965 (will work with all engine models)
- Roadmaster Falcon - Motorhome Mount # RM-522
- Adapter for Roadmaster Tow Bar to etrailer Classic Base Plates # e98983
- Demco Straight Safety Cables - 14,000 lbs - 64" Long - Qty 2 # DM9523055
- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7 (Premier models only)
- Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit w/ 7-Way to 6-Wire Connector # RM-152-LED-7 (non-Premier models only)
The great thing about using the etrailer Base Plate kit with the Roadmaster Falcon is that you will be able to have the benefit of a self-aligning design and a large hookup radius to make the connection easy at many different angles.
The safety cables provide extra safety by giving you a backup connection between towed vehicle and your RV.
With the Demco SBS Stay-In-Play DUO, your vehicle will receive the ability of proportional braking which means the brakes of your Equinox are activated at the same time and with the same intensity as those in your motor home. This kit also comes with a breakaway kit included for extra safety.
With the Roadmaster tail light wiring kits, you will have full functionality on your Equinox.
